Supervision FAQ

Do you provide supervision that meets Nevada licensure requirements?
Yes. I am an AAMFT-Approved Supervisor and provide supervision that meets Nevada Board requirements for Marriage & Family Therapy (MFT) and Clinical Professional Counseling (CPC) interns. Interns are responsible for verifying their own requirements and maintaining compliance with the Nevada State Board.
What is the difference between the Daytime Legacy Cohort and the Evening Cohort?
The supervision content and expectations are the same. The difference is scheduling.
- Daytime Legacy Cohort: Monday 12:00 PM PT, Tuesday 12:00 PM PT
- Evening Cohort: Monday 6:00 PM PT, Tuesday 6:00 PM PT
- Media Topics Discussion Group (optional): Wednesday 6 PM PT, Saturday 12 PM PT
All groups meet via Zoom and run for 55 minutes per session.
Can I switch between daytime and evening cohorts?
No. Interns are enrolled in one cohort for consistency, accountability, and group cohesion. Media Topics Discussion group supervision is optional and shared across cohorts.
What is included in Primary Supervision?
Primary Supervision includes:
- Access to all group supervision sessions
- Required individual supervision sessions (up to 2 per month/may be dyadic)
- Clinical case presentation
- Quarterly recorded session observation
- Quarterly documentation review
- Structured clinical feedback and professional consultation
Primary supervision is designed for interns preparing for independent licensure.
What is included in Secondary Supervision?
Secondary Supervision includes:
- Access to group supervision
- Access to Media Topics Discussion group
- No individual supervision sessions
Secondary supervision is appropriate for interns who already have a primary supervisor and need additional hours.
Do you offer supervision for students in practicum?
No. My supervision is limited to post-graduate MFT and CPC interns working toward licensure.
Is this supervision supportive or directive?
Both. My supervision style is direct, relational, and accountability-driven. Feedback is clear and specific, with an emphasis on clinical reasoning, ethics, and professional development. This supervision is not passive or purely supportive.
Do you offer emergency or on-call supervision support?
Emergency or time-sensitive consultation is available to Primary Supervision interns when clinically indicated. This does not replace appropriate workplace policies or crisis protocols.
How many interns are in each group?
Group size is intentionally limited to support meaningful participation, case discussion, and individual feedback.
How do I schedule an interview?
Interviews are scheduled through my secure online client portal. You will be asked to reserve the time with a valid credit card. There is no fee to apply or interview.
What makes an intern a good fit for your supervision model?
Interns who do well in my supervision typically:
- Want clear expectations and honest, kind feedback
- Are open to examining clinical patterns and decision-making
- Value structure, accountability, and depth
- Are preparing seriously for long-term clinical practice
This supervision may not be a fit for interns seeking minimal structure or low-engagement supervision.
Do you help with Board forms or licensure paperwork?
I provide supervision documentation as required. Interns are responsible for submitting their own materials and communicating directly with the Nevada State Board of Examiners for Marriage & Family Therapists and Clinical Professional Counselors.
Are there limits on availability?
Yes. I accept a limited number of interns per cohort to maintain quality and supervision integrity. Availability varies.

New Graduate Supervision FAQ
For Newly or Soon to be Graduated Nevada MFT & CPC Interns
I’m a brand-new intern. Is this supervision appropriate for me?
Yes—provided you are prepared for structured, engaged supervision. I regularly work with newly graduated MFT and CPC interns. My supervision is designed to help new clinicians build clinical confidence, ethical judgment, and professional clarity early in their licensure process.
This supervision is not observational-only or hands-off.
Will you help me understand Nevada licensure requirements as a new grad?
Yes. I provide clear guidance on supervision expectations, hour tracking, and required components. You are still responsible for knowing and following Nevada Board rules, but supervision includes support in learning how to navigate the process correctly.
I feel anxious about presenting cases. Is that a problem?
No. Case presentation is a core part of clinical development, and nervousness is expected early on. You will be supported in learning how to present cases clearly, think clinically, and tolerate professional feedback. Avoiding case presentation is not an option.
Do you help new grads with documentation and notes?
Yes. Quarterly documentation review is built into Primary Supervision. This includes feedback on clarity, clinical reasoning, and professional standards. The goal is to help you develop strong documentation habits early.
How much structure should I expect as a new intern?
A significant amount. New graduates benefit from:
- Clear expectations
- Consistent supervision
- Direct feedback
- Accountability around clinical growth
- Personal, individualized support
This supervision is designed to prevent drift, avoidance, and ethical uncertainty.
What if I don’t feel confident yet as a therapist?
Confidence is developed through practice, reflection, and supervision. You are not expected to be fully formed. You are expected to be engaged, prepared, and willing to learn.
Will I receive individual supervision as a new grad?
Yes, if you are enrolled in Primary Supervision. Individual supervision is required and focuses on case formulation, professional development, ethical decision-making, and developing the Self of the therapist.
Is this supervision supportive of learning, or only evaluative?
Both. Feedback is honest, kind and specific, with the goal of helping you grow into a competent, ethical clinician. Supervision is collaborative and non-judgmental.
Do you offer test preparation groups or courses?
I do not offer exam or test preparation groups or courses. I’m happy to share general information about licensure timelines and recommend external exam preparation resources if requested.
How do I know if I’m ready to apply?
You are likely ready if you:
- Are licensed as an intern in Nevada (or in process)
- Are actively seeing or preparing to see clients
- Want structured guidance
- Want to engage fully in supervision
What is the first step for new grads?
Schedule an interview through the secure client portal. The interview is used to assess fit, expectations, and readiness for supervision.
