Welcome to S.H.E. Space Nevada!  Below you will find the most commonly asked questions about our group.

1. What is a S.H.E. Space Nevada?

Sisters Healing with Empathy  is a collaborative therapeutic experience that involves the presence of a trained professional and others who are working through similar challenges toward healing.  Participants will have the opportunity to explore identity, healing, wellness and other topics in a supportive, non judgemental space.

2.  Who can join?

S.H.E. Space Nevada is an affinity support group and is available to residents of Nevada over the age of 21, who self identify as black and female.

3. Will sessions be confidential?

Group space is built with trust and mutual respect.  You can expect absolute confidentiality from your facilitators, as outlined by law and in our participant agreement.  We ask group members to adhere to strict guidelines around privacy and non-disclosure, but we cannot guarantee compliance for participants.

4.  Do you take my insurance?

S.H.E.  Space Nevada does not work with any insurance providers.  Group sessions must be paid for at the time of booking.

5. Where and when are groups held?

Groups Monday evenings at 6 pm and Saturday mornings at 11 am.  We will be adding more group space soon.  For now, feel free to see what groups are available here:

You can book a group session up to 2 weeks in advance.

6. How does registration work?

Registration is simple!  Click the link below and you will be taken to our online scheduling portal.  Select a time and date, and complete your intake documents online before making payment.  You will need a copy of your driver’s license  or state identification card to register.

7. How many people are in a typical group?

Group sizes vary, but most consist of 4-6 persons per 75 minute session.  Due to the confidential and often intimate nature of group space, participation is limited to 7 group members and one facilitator per group session.   Appointments will show as available to book until the session is full.

8.  What do you talk about?

This one is tough because the answer is: it depends.  Topics that come up frequently in this space include but aren’t limited to: processing how black/female identity affects our experience of the world, feeling like “the only one” or only one of a few in my professional or personal life, invisibility, trauma, black love, professional roadblocks, guilt and managing anxiety to name a few.  Oh.  And the “angry black woman”.  We talk about that too.

9.  What is the cost and what is your refund/cancellation policy?

10.  I’d like to talk with someone, but I am only able to reach your voicemail.  What is the best way to reach you to receive a quick response?

S.H.E. Space Nevada at Courage to Blossom Counseling is a grassroots community organization. We adhere to a strict budget to ensure that this resource is available to the widest number of black women in Nevada at the lowest possible cost. Automation allows us to do this. If you have questions that have not otherwise been answered here, please feel free to email me at, subject line: S.H.E. Space Nevada and I will respond as quickly as possible.

11. I’m not sure I’m ready to join, but I would like to stay connected. How can I do that?

We have a growing and active community on Facebook, we invite you to hang out with us there:

We look forward to having you join the conversation!
